Chickens

One of my friends from work has chickens, and with Em's recent excitement over all things farm-related, I thought it could be a fun adventure to visit them.

Interested, but also a little bit afraid.

My friend's daughter shows Em how to give the chickens a treat.

She really gets a kick out of this.

It's the only way she'll get close enough to the chickens to get a picture, and she giggles as they bite the leaves off.

She got excited and started trying to feed all the animals in the yard.

Mama fail...

So not only did I push her down the biggest slide at the playground (which she was feeling nervous about), but I also forgot to check the bottom of the slide for water. Oops!
Here she is, contemplating... she ended up sitting there until I went up and pushed her down.

At the bottom.

Ugh, I'm all wet!

Sheep!

We finally walked down the street to see our neighborhood sheep. Em is crazy about farm animals lately, especially sheep, so this was perfect.
Sheep!

Em was going crazy at this point. She doesn't know the sign for sheep so she was patting her leg (sign for dog) and making her sheep sound.

She's not very good at reading signs yet. So nice of her to offer to share her corn dog, though.

Trying to get closer...

Sipping from a straw

Em has struggled with learning how to drink from a straw. Turns out all she needed was something delicious to drink to make it worth learning =) So this is some super yummy mango lemonade that we took to the park to enjoy.

Finally successful at sipping!
Woah! Yum!

Oh, cool! You can take the straw out. What happens when you do this?

Hmm.... now my shorts are all wet.

This looks sort of like a straw. Will it work the same way?

Summertime!

Em got a new lounge set from Keith's parents. It's SO cute! So I might actually be more in love with it than she is.... oh well.

And of course, since we had a new prop, we had to take pictures, right?

I love it!

Playground Adventures

I love to take Em to the park and watch her play. It's even better when I bring my camera along and am able to capture some of the fun moments we have. Here are some pictures from one of our more recent outings.
BIG fan of the slide!

So pensive on the swing... don't let that fool you. If I push her high enough she smiles and lets out a big "Weeee!"

For some reason she loves to slide down backwards.

Her hard exterior finally cracks for the camera!

Another funny pic!

She's only recently worked up the courage to climb things.

Suddenly a master rock climber! Haha...

My cute little model

I decided to take a few pictures of Em outside today. They're not super exciting or anything, but I liked how they turned out.

Visiting the ducks

I took Em to a nearby park to see the ducks. She's crazy about birds right now, and loves to chase after them while making the sign for bird in her cute toddler way. Here are some pictures of our adventure earlier this month.

Chasing the birds

She liked sitting on my legs and just watching the ducks swim around the pond.
One such duck...
She's been trying to figure out how to put things in her pocket. It's fun to see her learn and experiment.

So I've Decided to Blog...

I'm not a professional photographer, but it is a very enjoyable hobby of mine and I love to take pictures for family and friends. Though I have a website, it's not set up in a way that is easy to see what is new and there is no way to make comments, which is why I have finally decided to set up a blog. Who knows who will read it, but now it exists =)

And just to start us off with a picture, here's my baby girl:
